How might we apply new technologies to make agriculture and water systems more resilient in the face of climate change?

The African Women in Technology (AWIT) conference was hailed to be one of a kind and it truly delivered on that. It provided a unique combination of deep-dive, hands-on tech workshops, information and discussions about careers in tech and how to pursue them; and connection and networking opportunities with other women in various aspects and careers in technology.

An interactive Design & The Internet of Things Hackathon held in The Innovation and Incubation Center at the United States International University (USIU)-Africa on 3rd June 2017.

From April 9th-15th 2017, Global Minimum (GMin) hosted a 1-week innovation camp for Kenyan youth who have come up with solutions for issues affecting their communities. These solutions address unique problems to Kenya including agriculture, education, health, information technology, waste management, energy and infrastructure. The top 12 projects countrywide were selected for the challenge

Twelve students from Loreto Convent Msongari participated in a Design Sprint focused on the theme of energy. Participants were challenged to create and prototype energy solutions in under 60 mins. A design sprint is a time-constrained, five-phase process that uses design thinking.
